Update your smartphone's operating system

If you want to keep using the HSBC France mobile app on your smartphone, you must update the OS, which is your smartphone’s operating system. You don’t need to uninstall the app, whether you have a Digital Secure Key or a Physical Secure Key.

How to manage this update?

It’s quick and easy to update the operating system.

  1. Connect your smartphone to a Wi-Fi network so you can proceed to the update.
  2. Update your device’s operating system:

For an iPhone go to Settings then General then Software update then Install.

If you need more details or information, you can check the help page.

For an Android smartphone, go to Settings then System then About phone.

If you need more details or information, you can directly check the help page.

What should I do if my phone doesn’t support the update?

Some smartphones aren’t compatible with the last operating systems versions released by Apple and Android.

For example, iOS 13 is only available on the iPhone 6s and the Samsung Galaxy S4 can only be updated up to Android 5.

For customers whose smartphone can’t support the update, we recommend that you use the Physical Secure Key if you don’t already have it. This way, you can keep checking your accounts on hsbc.fr, from Ma banque en ligne (online banking).

Deactivate your Mobile Secure Key by logging on using your user ID, password and memorable answer. Once you’ve logged on, go to Profile then Security settings then Deactivate Secure Key. Then, you can order a Physical Secure Key.
